Spotlight on health conditions
As Health Director and then Executive Editor at SELF, I led the launch of the brand’s first health conditions hub, Conditionally (now branded as “Feel Well”). My goal was to produce expertly sourced, empathetic journalism that made people with chronic conditions feel seen and heard. I’m especially proud of the stories I conceptualized and edited that shed light on underrepresented groups and systemic biases in health care.
The health care system has a lot of biases that are baked right in, but that’s far from the only issue.
